Interstellar Space: Genesis takes classic turn-based space 4X strategy mechanics, adds in a few twists of its own, and tosses them in with several brand new mechanics to create a truly unique entry into the genre. It also aims to provide a lack of burdensome micromanagement and an emphasis on the best aspects of classic 4X space strategy games.

Interstellar Space Genesis Review
If you watched the trailer of the game here on steam you sort of know what to expect. There are no real negatives that are hidden (graphics could be better, but you can see those easily and for me personally they’re totally fine).
I really like the turn-based space combat.. it’s well done and rather deep with all kinds of extra actions and things you can do (scan, overload systems etc. (and of course the regular weapons, movement and such)) and a heat system to balance as well.
I also really like how they did Leaders (your ‘heroes’) and how they level up and have desires (basically quests for them that so far make sense to me based on where my empire was in terms of tech, production capacity and exploration etc.) which when fulfilled makes those leaders better.
Diplomacy seems fine. I like the Galactic council votes (own 2/3rds of pop in the galaxy and guaranteed win for example).
There are lots of small things that they did well. Like for example having techs just improve all ships with a certain module. No 10 modules that have to be retrofitted but 1 ‘Battle Sensor’ module that automatically gets better by researching new scanners for example.
It has the option of a randomized tech tree, which I love, and you can disable tech trading, also nice to have.
It has really interesting deep space exploration where you can discover totally new systems that weren’t on the map before for example, or wormholes or w/e.
