GTFO Review
Very happy with the investment so far!
This game has no publisher so the devs are doing this by themselves. I get that £30 is expensive for a game in its current state but this is clearly a small development team who have limited resources. Seeing people say it should cost £10, I don’t understand how they expect the game to improve with such a pitiful investment.
At this stage matchmaking is imminent if you look at the roadmap, which I get is essential for solo players with no immediate friends available. It is strange why they released it so suddenly if matchmaking is so close to being complete. However, it runs really well apart from the odd frame drop or stuttery enemies. This is just optimisation issues and with time will be ironed out.
The game looks good too as you can see for yourself. This is also why the game will be expensive in its current state. Creating a game with a high end engine will be more costly to develop. I for one am happy they are willing to take a risk and go for a AAA feel despite being a small budget team.
This is not a review as others have detailed the gameplay aspects already. I just wanted to put this opinion out there against those who I feel are being naive and short sighted. Look at videos on youtube, read their roadmap, see what they are offering and when and decide if you are willing to invest and help them make a game that is looking really promising.
