Neon Beats Review
This is the most fun platformer I have played in a very long time. I have generally fallen out of favor with platformers. It seems most modern platformers are all about that super difficulty curve where you must have quick twitch reflexes and just memorize the course.
This is not one of those games (although it can be if you’re chasing that perfect run). This game is somewhat forgiving. I would say it has the perfect balance of challenge versus innovative game level design. The music is awesome. The visuals are minimalistic. How many times have you heard the term minimalistic and thought the game visuals looked dull? Not in this game.
Every shape and or color conveys information. It’s fun just seeing what the next part of the level will look like. The controls are tight (I used an Xbox controller). The levels are just long enough to enjoy and sabor the victory …. and want to do it again as soon as you’re done. The only really bad part of this game is that it’s very short. Yes, there’s only 3 levels + tutorial … but it’s free.
Rate 8.5/10. I would pay for this. I think I’m only knocking it down from a perfect 10 because I would have loved more content! Don’t suck me in to this awesome game for it to be over in about 20 minutes!
