Post Scriptum
Post Scriptum is a WW2 simulation game, focusing on historical accuracy, large scale battle, difficult learning curve and an intense need for cohesion, communication and teamwork. Players will relive the events of ‘Operation Market Garden’ across the fields and towns of Holland. This massive Allied assault consisted of a coordination of the British and American Airborne to capture key bridges while the British XXX Corps moved to reinforce them through Highway 69. However, consecutive delays in consolidating ground from the north of Belgium through Nijmegen forced the 1st British Airborne Division in Arnhem to make a stand much longer than anticipated. With no successful link between the XXX Corps and the Airborne in sight, the seventh and final bridge in Arnhem was considered lost.
Players will be given the option to fight with the British Airborne Division, British XXX Corps, 82nd US Airborne, 101st US Airborne or several branches of the German Army, such as the Wehrmacht or the Waffen SS. It’s a rare opportunity to experience the intense battlefield that was Operation Market Garden, which stretched across farms, woods, villages and city areas. Each area is being accurately recreated from archival references that range from street level to aerial images. Whether you’re jumping out of a plane, resupplying friendlies or operating a tank you will find multiple reasons to drop back into the battlefield in this grand scaled representation of a WW2 setting never explored in a large multiplayer environment.

Post Scriptum Review
The game is unforgiving and cruel, just like war should be. You will be snipped by a guy hidden in a bush, your truck will explode on a mine on your way back to the base, or your tank will get blown to pieces by an anti-tank infantry hiding by the side of the road. It is frustrating, but after some time you will learn. And the community is really nice and players will usually give you advice if you’re new, so don’t give up.
The game offers many gameplay possibilities. You can play infantry and shoot some bad guys like in any other shooter, or you can join a tank crew and drive an armored beast, or you can join the logistic crew to build reinforcements (sandbags, MG nests, plant mines, etc.) to help your team defend a strategic point, etc. There are many ways to contribute to the war effort. It’s not a simple shooter.
The explosions and particle effects are gorgeous. Coupled with an amazing sound design, you really feel like you’re in a battlefield. This is the killer feature of this game for me. The weapons and tanks models are beautifully made and the foliage on the terrain is well rendered.
An unforgiving military simulator in the WWII era that offers various gameplay options (infantry, tank, logistic) if you’re tired of the usual military shooters. There is a lot to learn and it can be overwhelming, however the community is usually nice enough to help out and give some advice to newcomers. The visuals are a bit uneven, especially in the urban areas but the stunning sounds and visuals effects make for a really immersive experience.
