Risk of Rain 2
The classic multiplayer roguelike, Risk of Rain, returns with an extra dimension and more challenging action. No run will ever be the same with randomized stages, enemies, bosses, and items. Play solo, or team up with up to four friends to fight your way through hordes of monsters, unlock new loot, and find a way to escape the planet. With each run, you’ll learn the patterns of your foes, and even the longest odds can be overcome with enough skill. A unique scaling system means both you and your foes limitlessly increase in power over the course of a game–what once was a bossfight will in time become a common enemy.
Myriad survivors, items, enemies, and bosses return to Risk 2, and many new ones are joining the fight. Brand new survivors like the Artificer and MUL-T debut alongside classic survivors such as the Engineer, Huntress, and–of course–the Commando. With over 75 items to unlock and exploit, each run will keep you cleverly strategizing your way out of sticky situations.

Risk of Rain 2 Review
As an avid Risk of Rain player who has invested hundreds of hours mindlessly mowing down Lemurians, Risk of Rain 2 is a game in which I have waited patiently for ever since its announcement. Needless to say, I was not let down.
Risk of Rain 2 carries over the original Risk of Rain experience perfectly into a 3D setting. With a good balance of new and old, Risk of Rain 2 highlights exactly what a good sequel should be: building upon a previous game with some spicy new flavor. Perhaps the greatest part of this style of execution, is the sheer amazement created from seeing old 2D enemies in a new light.
The map design in Risk of Rain 2 clearly reflects the design of the original RoR. As for now the map pool might be low, but it’s already at a sizable amount to be more than playable without getting boring. And of course, nobody can forget the legendary music. Hiring the same musician that made the bangers in the original, Risk of Rain 2 has a top tier soundtrack.
Unfortunately, Risk of Rain 2 is not for everybody. In my opinion, the game is worth 20$, but some of my friends think it’s not worth anywhere near that amount. One even thinks Risk of Rain 2 isn’t worth a penny and should be a free game. According to him, the game is “stupid” because you just do the same thing over and over. I fail to understand his point. Every game in existence revolves around doing the same thing over and over. But I guess for some people, the idea of permadeath and starting from the beginning could be daunting. Unfortunately for them, permadeath is a staple of roguelikes and it is what makes the “Risk” in Risk of Rain.
I’d recommend giving the original a play before hopping into Risk of Rain 2. You’ll understand the game a lot better and have a lot of fun in the process. The original Risk of Rain also has a lot more content than Risk of Rain 2 as of now, so you’ll have more to go through at a cheaper price too.
