Sunset Overdrive

Sunset Overdrive

Sunset Overdrive transforms an open-world apocalypse into your tactical playground. Zip, grind and wall-run across Sunset City with an unconventional arsenal. Hyper-agility, unique weapons, and customizable abilities deliver an explosive and irreverent adventure in the end times.

Don’t miss the single-player campaign from the game that IGN awarded Best Xbox One Game of 2014, the game that Polygon rated 9 out of 10, and the game that Eurogamer calls “a breath of fresh air.” In Sunset Overdrive, the year is 2027 and Sunset City is under siege. A contaminated energy drink has transformed most of the population into toxic mutants. For many it’s the end of the world, but for you it’s a dream come true. Your old boss? Dead. Your boring job? Gone. Transform the open-world into your tactical playground by grinding, vaulting and wall-running across the city while using a devastating, unconventional arsenal. With hyper-agility, unique weapons, and customizable special abilities, Sunset Overdrive rewrites the rules of traditional shooters and delivers an explosive, irreverent, stylish, and totally unique adventure.

Embrace the chaos of Sunset City through a hyper-colorful, post-apocalyptic single-player campaign and two bonus expansions, Mystery of Mooil Rig and Dawn of the Rise of the Fallen Machines. Outgun crazed mutants, homicidal robots, and villainous thugs on your journeys with the included Weapons Pack.

Features:
– An Open World with No Rules – Leap off buildings, run along walls, and grind power lines and rails to destroy your foes from every angle.
– Over-the-top Weapons – Collect and upgrade an arsenal of unconventional weapons that use items like dynamite, fireworks, harpoons, and acid to destroy your enemies.

Sunset Overdrive Review

The game is in essence Saints Row 3 fused with Dead Rising 2 when it comes to wakeyness and non-seriouseness of the game. The story is still sort of serious and a lot more engaging than what I’ve experienced in other open world games and hell the humor of the game kept me playing as I wanted to see what crazy crap would happen next :P.

The game really is its best when you get all your cool moves and start using your upgraded OP guns !!!! Just mowing through your enemies while your grinding on rails or hanging off of ropes is a blast and definitely the centerpiece of the game, oh now that I’m on that point, please please please play with autolock on, I first tried playing without it as I hate autolocking but remember in this game your character is constantly moving around real fast so aiming is generally not really that possible so just save yourself the time and play with autolock right of the bat and fully enjoy the game :).

Anyways I don’t want to go on to long with a review, just bare in mind the game is stupid, wackey, non censicle and bloody amazing, the DLCs while not AS good as the rest of the game are still amazing DLCs and have satisfying boss battles :). Anyways !!!!! This has gone on to long, I give this game a 7.8 !!!!! It is amazing , you must play this !!!!

Summary
Insomniac Games has crafted an excellent game in Sunset Overdrive. It's not without a few niggling issues, but you'll be too busy enjoying yourself to care. You can compare it to games like Crackdown, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, and Ratchet and Clank, but by combining the best elements of those games into a single package and injecting it with an anything goes, rock and roll attitude, you'll never think of it as anything but a singular achievement that stands tall on its own merits. It's one of the best games on the Xbox One, and a refreshing shot of merriment.
