Vane

Vane

In a ruined desert, a strange golden dust transforms a free-spirited bird into a determined young child, setting off a chain of events that will reshape the world itself.

Set out on an exploratory quest, transforming between bird and child, using both perspectives to unravel the land’s mysteries and create a path forward through the barren landscape. As you do so, the world reacts to your passage, evolving and building into something altogether different.

Distinctive, gorgeous, and set to an original, brooding synth soundtrack, Vane is an enigmatic and unnerving game that aims to leave an impact. The team at Friend & Foe Games, using experience spanning titles like the Last Guardian and Killzone, made Vane with the conviction that players should find their own path in the world, and and explore just to the point of getting lost – and the result is a unique, unforgettable memory. In a forgotten and ruined land, a strange golden dust transforms a free-spirited bird into a lost child, setting off a chain of events that will reshape the world in unexpected ways.

Vane Review

Fans of ABZU, Journey and the likes of these games, will fall in love. I ask you to indulge and fall into this game.

The art, the sound and the music. The beauty in its composition both visually and audibly had again and again exceeded my expectations of what was to come and my perception of what had already come to pass. The gameplay puts you through a line of discovery, finding yourself upon many puzzles and traversing many types of landscapes and environments in different ways.

With little introduction or indication of direction, I was just enticed by a truly artistic allure that was in play. This aroused this fervent desire to find and forge my path and discover my purpose. The developers have managed through the world and characters to pull me through the life of this story and its characters showing many values that I respect and understand. In the end I felt myself to be of their kind, longing to fulfill my purpose lol. It was all quite poetic really.

Though the pace of the game can tend to be slower than you would want, I couldn’t help but find myself stopping and smelling the roses. This is after all, an explorative adventure.

It was an incredible experience, a wonder in wander. It holds serenity, intensity and mystery. I will play it again as there is surely alternate endings, and surely, I will find much more to appreciate.

Highly recommend the game, good job devs. I hope you get the reputation and love you deserve. Look forward to what more you produce.
