Boundless Review
I picked up this title about a month after release. Was a little unsure about it and started regretting my purchase after the first 2 hours thinking I paid $40 for Minecraft…AGAIN. BUT gave it some time and patience like every game deserves. Slowly but surely I progressed further and further getting stronger tuning my character towards my play style, quickly realizing how very very different it was from MC. I was very Intrigued by the skill tree and different builds of characters to create, the seemingly endless MASSIVE planets with beautiful and unique scenery on each and the interesting player builds and designs i stumbled across attempting not to get lost, I continued on. Next thing I know it’s 3 months and 500 game hours later, I’m part of a huge guild, I’m still enjoying the heck out of designing very intricate and elaborate things, going on end game activities, discovering new areas on planets,(ya that’s right 500+ hrs and I still haven’t seen the game in its entirety) making awesome gear, helping new community members and friends out on all kinds of things and just enjoying the super friendly community in general. This game is very underrated. It’s an absolute blast and has a very promising future of even more awesome to come.
The spin that the micro transaction store is a bad thing/cash grab have it wrong. It’s purely cosmetic and you earn the store money just by leveling. The more you level the more you earn and it’s endless. The fueling of your beacon to protect your land is ridiculously cheap and the crappy version of the fuel lasts a month.
If you enjoy a relaxing building/exploration/spelunking/adventuring game Boundless is definitely for you.
