Blacksad Under the Skin
A dark corruption scandal in the heart of the New York City’s underworld for charismatic detective John Blacksad!
The 50s, New York City: Joe Dunn, owner of a boxing club, is found dead.
Meanwhile, rising star Bobby Yale, due to take to the ring for the most important fight of his career, has mysteriously disappeared.
Sonia Dunn, Joe’s daughter, takes over the gym and must deal with its financial woes. She hires private detective John Blacksad to investigate Yale’s disappearance. This sinister case will take our investigator to the darkest, most dismal depths of New York.
With its anthropomorphic characters and its incredible 1950s feel, BLACKSAD: Under the Skin promises all the eerily dark adventure of a detective novel, just like the eponymous comic book series.
Conduct the investigation in your own way. Make use of your feline senses as you hunt for new clues. Make decisions on behalf of Blacksad and influence the outcome of the case.

Blacksad Under the Skin Review
As a fan of the comic-book series, this was certainly a much anticipated game adaptation for me. Did it deliver what I was hoping for? In two words: It did.
This game, while having a similar gameplay such as Telltale games and ‘Life Is Strange’, feels like a different experience compared to playing those titles mentioned. Besides the genre and setting of the game, the developers clearly added in features which made you feel integrated as a private detective, such as a clue-map where you match clues, and a unique ability where you use your ‘cat senses’ to detect your surroundings, since you play as an anthropomorphic cat. The environment and settings were very open and generally well-done. Interaction with props and objects were plentiful.
Now, some minor critiques I would have were a few Quicktime events(QTE) were too fast in the game although I won’t spoil the plot. Animation for the characters was a bit wonky and could be better. Lastly, while this is a petty nitpick, I don’t really like the style of having the ‘Main Menu’ as the ‘Pause Menu’. I was taken aback slightly when I started the game and it went straight into the actual gameplay. But as I said, this is just a small nitpick.
The story, speaking a fan of the comics, was just as typically good as the ones in the comic, in terms of narrative structure and pace. No more and no less.
Overall, this was quite a fun experience! If Pendulo Studio and Microids ever decide to make another Blacksad episodic game of the same or better quality, count me in!
