This 360-degrees high-speed action is filled with exhilaration and has been highly evaluated across different platforms. Choose one of four girls and defeat a series of monsters occupying a variety of different arenas using various combos, speedy dashes and aerial attacks. Select up to four weapons to change up your look and combo style with various special moves. In addition to the thrilling action, character customization is available, allowing you to dress up your character with cat ears, glasses, headphones etc. Each item containing its own special effects to enhance combat.
Croixleur Sigma Review
The game itself is almost identical in every way to the original with the exception of 2 new characters and some new weapons, modes and some equipment. Which is not a BAD thing, but again, this could have been an update or even if we’re being fair, a purchasable DLC, but it’s not.
The game itself is plenty fun. It’s VERY fast paced and takes some handling to get the hang of the controls. At first it feels almost ‘TOO FAST’, but you’ll soon learn that it’s part of a rhythm of attack+dodge that can feel very satisfying once you’ve gotten it down just right, but can also feel punishing if you do it wrong. Getting surrounded by enemies and whacked to death without being able to move doesn’t leave you with a heavy sense of pride, but learning how to jump+dodge at the right moment to avoid it sure as heck does.
The story is rather boring and bland since there isn’t really much to tell apart from very FEW cut scenes/story scenes that explain very little about the world and mostly just give a reason as to why the characters are chopping up hordes of enemies in wave after wave. The characters themselves are okay. They are cutesy, funny and adorable and don’t totally not fit in with the action packed surroundings.
There are plenty of weapons for each character, each with a 3-star tier system of ranking as you play. The higher the star, the better ability you have to use that weapon and the more suited to your character it gets. The essence of the battle is combo attacks with the skills and lots and lots of fast dodging. Basic attacks can be comboed into yet another set of combo skills using the right weapons. This feels really powerful when you are facing more of the meatier characters, but feels unnecessary and sometimes punishing when you use this on smaller/normal enemies, so you are just better off using basic attacks on the weaker mobs.
I appreciate that they added a Katana wielding character because i’m a weeeeb that way and I love katana weapons, so it feels good to play with them. Each character has their own unique style but honestly it feels pretty much the same in the grand scheme of things.
