Lost Sphear Review
Do I recommend this game? Hell yes. I may only have like 6.5 hours to my name on this game (at time of posting), but it’s just so good. Granted, everyone will have their gripes. Right? I picked up this bad boy during this wholesome Summer Sale in 2018, the year of our lord. Jaden Smith. I had my eye on this game since it was announced, and when the demo dropped back in November. It just had this.. aesthetic that really clicked with me. I avoided it, however, for the next few months due to all these mixed and negative reviews I kept hearing. But, here I am sizing up this fine piece of work for 50% of it’s original price. Which, I like to think is actually a pretty good time to buy a game you’re unsure about.
Having now dirtied my hands in this somewhat generic save the world jrpg story.. I can say the $50 price tag is probably worth it. For dedicated jrpg fans, anywho. What sealed the deal for me was the feeling of my childhood just hitting me in the face. Honestly. It ticks a lot of boxes for me, and even gives me hope for what’s to come. In fact, it made me think of my first time playing Tales of Symphonia for the first time on the Gamecube. Booooooyyyy Howdy. That is a game right there. Not-So-Subtle game plug.
That’s about all I have to say about this game though, until I dig in a little further. I hope anyone else curious about the game decides to pick it up, or hopefully this review was somewhat helpful. Besides.. we can’t always let reviewers tell us what’s good and what’s not! Gotta formulate our own opinions and reviews every once in a while. Also can I just say that I appreciate the characters? Cause I do.
