NosTale means “The Tale of Nomads of Silver Spirit”. The game features typical MMORPG elements, such as chatting, questing, training, partying, setting up player shops and contains most of the elements that other MMORPGs have. Some of the features of the game include Manhwa-style art, ability to select occupations after reaching a certain level, and ability to transform into a “Specialist” form using cards and points. The tale speaks of the adventurers of the continent of Eastmile.
The players go on an adventure in the world of NosTale as 2D characters in a 2.5D world with lots of other players from around the world. They get to have a pet and a partner to accompany them through their journey and have their own miniland where they can have their own designed house and garden to rest and keep their own partners and pets etc.
NosTale Review
I have played it on and off with my friends for years, while the biggest problem I have with NosTale is the power creep. All the major updates are fixed an focused on making the strongest and richest players even stronger and richer (since they are the only players who can complete in the new content for the first few months). The only way you can properly catch up in this lifetime is by spending a small fortune.
Introducing the game to steam might save the game, for sure there is an awesome community but it’s been around since 2006 for the Korean audience it’s also kinda dead as only high-level players roam the game. There are new servers to play on with the launch of steam, so everyone will get a new fresh start.
If you like playing by yourself most of the time or are a casual gamer then it’s absolutely an awesome mmo. While there are missions that open to groups as small as 4 players with as many as 15 being able to tackle some missions.
NosTale also offers pets which you can catch in the game world and use in battle (you can only have a single active pet at any time). By training these pets they will gain new skills and can prove to be a powerful ally in battle if used properly.
NosTale has good class diversity although it only offers 3 base classes which players must select upon reaching level 15. These base classes are the Swordsman, the Archer and the Sorcerer but upon obtaining further levels players can choose from a further 4 options per class for a total of 22 second tier class options.
Don’t expect making a lot of gold or progressing as easily it’s a time and money sink if you want to compete with high level players. As an old player of the game unfortunatly I can’t recommned this game to new players.
