Rebel Inc Escalation Review
This game truly shows what it’s like to be the governor of a war-torn region. You will have to make tough decisions, choosing who to save and who leave suffering. You will fail over and over again, losing your money and reputation. You will be torn on what initiatives to purchase next, as corruption runs rampant in your government and the insurgents tare down everything you’ve spent so long and so much money building. But every time you start a new game, that epic music will start playing again, motivating you to give it your all once more until you stabilise the region and claim victory amongst the insurgency, and once you do, you will feel like you’ve conquered not just the region, but the world itself. That is until you realise that was only the first and easiest level.
The game is satisfying, tense, frustrating at times but ultimately it is fun. It requires a lot of tactical thinking, significantly more so than Plague Inc. Think of it like a more complex game of chess, with a five kilometer board and lives on the line. Every action you make is going to have its pros and cons and will be the foundation to either your success or demise. You must find balance between your people, your government and your military, which trust me is much harder than it sounds. Like with anything, an unlimited budget could do wonders, but in reality, your just a governor who has to deal with the issues of a war torn region and keep your reputation in check, the region, the United Nations and the world is watching your every step. Although, if you’ve played the mobile version before, not a lot has changed, but soon the developers will be adding multiplayer and a scenario builder. But if your a strategic warlord who lives in a concrete bunker like me, your guaranteed to like this game.
