Unsung Warriors Prologue Review
I’ll be honest, Unsung Warriors – Prologue on the surface looks like nothing special and I’m tempted to agree with that, but given that I’ve played much worse games…like Helmet Heroes, I’ve seen that this one has been pretty decent.
The story starts out simply. A man of questionable trustability appears and spreads rumors of a great treasure in a nearby temple/ruin. Several people in the village vanish trying to get the treasure only to never return. It’s your job to find the people and/or to find the truth behind the rumors. That said, you venture into the ruin and dodge traps and fight a skeleton army…pretty basic platformer stuff.
The animations are well done, the music is well-chosen for the areas and situations in question, and the game is short (clocking in about one hour in length). If I had any problems, it would be that the boss of this demo can freeze….though that makes the “kill the boss with your fists” achievement pretty easy….but without that freeze, the challenge is very tough to accomplish.
So, do I recommend Unsung Warriors – Prologue? If you have a free hour to burn, I’d say to go for it. It’s not terrible, but it’s not fantastic either. The puzzles are simple and the aesthetic of the environment is nice. There’s more good than bad in this game, but it is pretty basic. Definitely worth a try.
